Today was a sad day. I lost my TARDIS key keychain...which I've had since I was around 10 years old. Think I probably dropped it when I was running errands today...called a few of the stores I'd been in but nobody seems to have found it. I feel stupid (I'd had it attached to my car keys with a rather flimsy ring in between and it'd slipped off before, though always just into my pocket, or I noticed it dropping...and on top of that, we'd ended up taking my mom's truck rather than my car, so I didn't even need to have the keys with me--argh!). I also feel stupidly depressed. I loved that keychain.
*Moment of silence*
Alright. Enough of that. :?P
Otherwise it's been a pretty good week...
We actually have a Ben Franklin Five & Dime store in Oberlin, the college town nearby. Granted they don't actually sell things for five or ten cents, but lots of neat cheap things anyway. It's where I got my William Shakespeare action figure (and his buddies Benjamin Franklin and Albert Einstein). And earlier this week, mom found the awesomest wooden rubber-band pistols...they look almost just like Mal's sidearm on Firefly! So there's a key piece of the costume I plan to put together for Serenity's release September 30th. And any Scapers who are interested, btw...I'll probably be opening the farm to folks who want to come stay, meet critters, and see the movie with me that weekend. *g* (Just have to pin down my schedule for a couple of other things before I make that official.)
My brother brought me back some awesome swag from the WizardWorld Con in Chicago...including an unpainted prototype Lorne action figure autographed *to me* by Andy Hallett! That is teh awesome.
Enjoyed the Stargates this week too...some quick ramblies on those...
I think this episode was worth the price of admission for the jello scene alone. *g* Why do I get the feeling Claudia really does snurch jello from Ben?
Claudia playing goddess...well DUH.
The subplot with General...errr...Beau Bridges and his daughter is kinda cool so far. If only because I like both of them a lot...his gentle humor, her unphasability and subtle snark. (And she's kinda cute. :?P)
And was it just me, or...when Vala said, "I've heard better plans", she seemed to be pointing right at Ben. Considering Crichton's history with plans...and Aeryn's usual reactions to them...this made me snerk muchly.
Another fun ep. I was a little dubious about Weir's bravado facing down Mr. Politician-with-extra-evil-on-the-side..
Also saw Sky High on friday, that newish live action Disney movie about a school for superheroes...a lot of fun, I give it the thumbs up. :?) Sure, it's got it's fair share of cheese, cliche, and predictability. (There are some plot twists you see coming from miiiiiiiiles away.) But it's made up for in very likable chars and surprising moments of wit. There are lines of dialogue that make you stop and go, "Where did they get THAT writer?" Like the bit where a friend complains about the unfairness of something, and the main kid replies, "If life ever starts being fair, I really don't think it's gonna happen in high school." And then there's, "And then all the reindeer loved him..."
So yeah. That's all I got for now.

And the red Jello follows them, remember when every effect (vomit, liquified pk, etc) was red jello on Scape? *G*
